I got into kiting through my cousins. I was always at the beach and in the water doing wakeboarding and sailing. My cousin bought a kite and I decided kitesurfing was the sport for me.
I got my first kite in February 2003. I didn't have the correct equipment and didn't take any lessons because I hadn't got enough money so I had lots of accidents and injuries, but it all helped for me to understand about the sport and it didn't put me off at all.
We had a great summer in 2004, and I competed in my first event at my home beach (Hayling Island) as a junior and got 3rd place. I did the remaining events that year and managed to get 3rd place overall junior.
My goal for 2005 was to win the juniors. I did! I won the KBBT Junior Championship. I did want to win the BKSA Championship but I couldn't attend all the events so I ended up coming 2nd. I picked up my first sponsor in the winter of 2005 (RRD) and stayed with them throughout the year.
In the winter of 2006 I moved to the Naish 'PRO' team and I'm keener than ever...
